We went to the Badlands!!!! They are magnificent!!!! They are so incredibly different then anything I have ever seen before, worth the trip. From there we went to Rapid City for drinks on top of the Alex Johnson hotel and dinner at Sorbatino’s Italian restaurant. Walked around downtown and saw some the the presidential statues on the corners.
Day 6
We went to Devils Tower, it is on the South Dakota and Wyoming border but is in Wyoming. Going we went on the scenic highway from Lead to Spearfish, well worth the extra time,
From Devils Tower we went to Deadwood SD, Spent most of our time at the cemetery, saw Wild Bill Hitchcock , calamity Jane, and other colorful characters from Deadwood during that period of time in there resting place. The rest of Deadwood was full of motor bikes from Sturges.
Day 4
Was a travel day from Sioux Falls to Rapid city, we had a couple of stops along the way at the Corn Palace and Wall Drug.
Day 5
We have been without wi-fi, so this is catch up for all who are following.
Day 5 was wonderful went to Mount Rushmore and Custer State park (hint never come to South Dakota during The Sturgis bike Rally) the hills are alive with bikers, rams, and Buffalo, but mainly bikers).
3rd Day
Souix Falls, South Dakota, is such a great little city. We went to falls park ( beautiful). Ended our day going downtown to have a wonderful dinner. The historic downtown area must be going through an incredible change cute shops and sculptures everywhere, I don’t know why they don’t advertise it, because it is such a great place for food and shopping. Saw a billboard coming into SD that said- eat steak/ wear fur/ and carry a gun. Made our day- great state!!
Day 2 KANSAS CITY
We went to Kansas City hoping to get a picture at 12th street and Vine like the song, but you can forget that (BECAUSE THERE IS NO SUCH PLACE). so instead we went to The Power and Light District downtown which has lots of restaurants and bars.
1st Stop
Tulsa to visit son, daughter in-law, and most importantly grandchildren. Had a wonderful dinner of test kitchen chicken. Will leave in the morning for Kansas City.
